The decor and the building itself was very nice!! They have a nice bar area and TV's throughout the restaurant. I was really hoping the food would be great as I love to support new businesses. However, I would describe it as average at best. The ribs were not very tender at all. They had to be cut apart with a knife. I would not describe the chicken as dry but it definitely was not juicy. The sides lacked much flavor. The staff was nice and service was good so I am hoping we just caught them on a bad day and the food will improve.

After all the hype of the reviews and a 30minute wait for our food (I wouldn't say it was packed), it was disappointing and definitely not 4-star worthy. The atmosphere is great and very family oriented. Mac n cheese was the highlight. The baby back ribs were dry and grissley (sp?). Their sauce options weren't anything exciting. Honestly I think TGIF is better. I will qualify my comments in that I make pretty awesome ribs at home that always gets raves from true foodies. So my bar may be set too high.

Loved the building with the open seating and big windows in the dining area. The waitstaff was very nice especially our waiter he checked on us maybe a few too many times but that's ok! Even the manager or owner, (not really sure who he was) was going around to each table making sure everyone was doing ok. I enjoying my food (sandwich platter...one brisket sandwich, one chicken and one pork) very much. The brisket was a bit tough but the pulled pork sandwich made up for it. They could use a bigger variety of sauces. Also the hush puppies and Mac n cheese bites are great as an appetizer! I would recommend they expand the patio or change the windows to functional garage doors, with the restaurant being right downtown an open setting would be great! I wouldn't say this is the best BBQ I've had (go to Chuck's in Darien for that) but I enjoyed the food and would be willing to try again.

I went here for lunch with my grandma on a Saturday afternoon and it was such a great experience! We had not eaten breakfast and stopped for a late lunch (probably 1:30-2). Restaurant was empty, which was nice. My grandma had been before and said that it was very crowded and loud during dinner time on the weekends. We started with nachos for an appetizer with chicken. The nachos came out fairly quick and it was a huge portion! Covered in chili, melted cheese, beans, jalapenos, salsa, and sour cream, these were excellent nachos. The chili was some of the best I've had and the salsa was pico de gallo and it was incredibly fresh tasting. For our entrees, we decided we wanted to try EVERYTHING so we both got Windy City platters. Mine had the chicken and Carolina-style pork with sides of mac and cheese and the potato salad. My grandma had brisket and ribs with sides of fried okra and french fries. Again, giant portions and everything came out hot. The chicken is one of the best dishes on the menu by far. They baste it with a Georgia-style mustard and it is so sweet and tasty. The chicken was moist and juicy, I definitely recommend it to anyone. The Carolina-style pork comes shredded with a vinegary sauce that is so flavorful. The only problem with the pork is that it is very dry, but like I said, INCREDIBLE flavor on it, so it didn't bother me too much. The mac and cheese is amazing, creamy and buttery. It is made with American, Monterey Jack, cream and butter, that's it, and it's perfect. The potato salad is made with redskin potatoes, eggs, shallots, and pickles and it is so good. Not too heavy and really delicious. My grandma's brisket was incredible! I am not a fan of brisket either, but damn! This was great! The ribs just fell right off the bone, so tender and flavorful. I do not care for fried okra, so I really can't comment on that, but the fries were great! Salt and pepper seasoned and hot out of the fryer. Overall, we had a great experience here! Our server, I think her name was Sarah, was very attentive and wonderful. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the portions were so big!! I had enough leftover for lunch on Monday. Except for the sides, I didn't save any of that to bring home, too good! :D

One of the best BBQ joints in IL. These guys care about attention to detail and it does not go unnoticed. I see nothing but success for this place and I am looking forward to going back soon!!

Wings ... Best ever!... Really! I am not claiming to be an expert but A REALLY enjoyed the spicy and sweet BBQ sauce. Nachos... So different so good. I suggest getting them plain and Addington Grumpy Sauce yourself! We will definitely go back and explore the rest of the menu!

While the food is good the service is just plain awful. Disorganized and chaotic. Waited 45 minutes for our main course to arrive while people seated 10-20 minutes after us were being served. One person in our group asked for the baby backed ribs and they were out on a Saturday night. That's like a Mexican restaurant running out of chips and salsa. This place is now under new management after only a year. I will repeat the food is good but the service is awful. We actually had to ask the hostess for our check because we waited for our check ten minutes after we finished and got tired of waiting.

I love supporting local businesses so it is really hard to write this. My large family of 8 came and tried a little bit of everything. My mom and I both had the smoked chicken wrap. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst things I've ever ordered from a restaurant. I know that sounds harsh, but the chicken honestly tasted like it came out of a can. Not even the tasty BBQ sauces could salvage this. I really hope the kitchen was just having a bad day with this wrap. The Carolina pulled pork was very tasty. My sister usually eats like a bird but she scarfed this sandwich down. My husband really enjoyed his Texas chicken sandwich. Dad and brother thought the pulled pork platter was just so so. Fries were a little soggy. Hush puppies were tasty, although drier than expected. All in all, I think our wraps kind of ruined it for the party. If we go back, we will try to focus on the more BBQ-esque entrees instead of sandwiches.

My husband and I found this place during the Heritage Day Festival. The brisket sandwich was tender and very good. The selection of sauces on the table was a plus. The onion rings had a good seasoning and did not fall apart. The dill dipping sauce was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and courteous. The manager came over to the table and pleasantly talked to us. Loved the building and the atmosphere. A GREAT first experience. We shall go back!

Enjoyable lunch. Great service. Had the Honcho Burger and Fries. Both were tasty. The draft beer selection, while not extensive, offered some compelling choices. I'll definitely go back.

For some reason BBQ restaurants in the suburbs of Chicago just cannot match up to true BBQ restaurants that are established in other states. Blues BBQ and Grill fails on a few items and shines on others. First off, the waitress was good and attentive, I would have enjoyed her attention to details if she was able to match up one of the many beers that is on hand with the actual BBQ. Most American Brown Ales or Ales that have a hint of caramel, vanilla, etc. will match up just fine. The appetizers are a hit, we had the chicken wings and the Mac N Hush Puppies - DELICIOUS! When it came to the entrees, meh it was so-so. My son had the Beef Brisket Sandwich, my wife had a burger, and I had the Windy City two choice combo. The beef brisket was awful, it was tough, very dry, and had no flavor at all, on top of that it was not smoked like a Texas style smoking that it deserves. The ribs that came with my entree were good, not baby back ribs, they need to change their menu to reflect that their ribs are back ribs NOT BABY! My wife's burger - The Blues Travelor - was okay, I believe that if you are going to put burgers on your menu, they should be THE BEST BLEND OF MEATS that the chef and cooks should work with. The burger tasted like a frozen patty that could be bought at any grocery store, and anyone can build it. We finished off the dinner with a Bag 'O' Donuts, they were freshly made and the cinnamon sugar was very good. Overall if the Chef would become more of a pit master if they would go and visit Franklins or Snows BBQ in Texas, or Pappies in St. Louis, MO, he/she would pick up some vital tips on how to BBQ Beef Brisket, Chicken, Ribs, and many other items. I give it a meh, I've definitely had better.

We've been here three times and the food was only "great" one of the three. It seems to depend on the time of day we show up. The food is better (meat was more moist and had better flavor) earlier in the evening (not sure why, maybe it's fresher then, and then it sits under warming lamps the rest of the night?). Staff service has been consistently "cordially" polite, nothing spectacular. The place has great ambience, and of all the bbq joints in a 20 mile radius, this is definitely the best. I've had BBQ all over the country and been to some of the best BBQ joints, so I give this place 2.5 stars for food and an extra .5 for ambience.

Best ribs I ever tasted. Say no more. General manager and wait staff very nice. I could go on and on but the ribs were unbelievable!!!!!

In continuing with our 5 year 4th of July tradition, we decided to try out the ribs at Blues BBQ. The ambiance is modern rustic country with exposed wood beams & brick on the walls and ceiling & extra thick, reusable Solo cups & similar "paper" plates. The air is filled with the aroma of smoked meat, but it's not overpowering, which left me wondering if it's eau de smokehouse or the real thing. The menu's pretty well-rounded, with everything from salad to brisket, and there are several rib entrees to choose from, which made me a happy diner, after all variety is the spice of life. I settled on the apple butter bbq ribs with a side of hush puppies and sweet potato fries (nary a true vegetable to be seen, unless you want corn smothered in butter or a side salad) while my hungrier half opted for a variety plate trio (with a side of french fries and macaroni and cheese). Our half pint eater opted to just happily color the kid's menu and munch off our plates, although they do have a standard kid's menu with things like chicken fingers, cheese burgers, noodles, etc. Food came out nice & hot. Portions were generous. Everything that I ordered was tasty, particularly the scallion infused hush puppies. The ribs definitely had a nice top note of apple butter, but it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet or pronounced, which I appreciated. I will have to say that these are not fall off the bone tender, so make sure that your jaw and teeth are ready for action. One reason for a lack of tenderness was that the tough membrane on the opposite side of the ribs was still in tact, which both the hubs and I found weird. The other thing that I found odd was the random side of cinnamon butter on my plate that didn't seem to go with anything; I opted to just push it aside and forget about it all together. The hubs got ribs, smoked chicken & brisket on his variety platter. While he sang the praises of the smoked chicken (and begrudgingly shared some with the hungry toddler), he commented that the brisket was nothing to write home about. To me, it looked on the dry side & didn't have that signature smoke ring that a good brisket should. Don't get me wrong, he ate it, just drown it in bbq sauce. His macaroni & cheese was phenomenal and is worth mentioning. It was so good that I wish they sold it in a 5 gallon bucket, possibly even a swimming pool size. Seriously, try the mac n cheese! Lunch for 2 and a half, with 1 beer and a water for the little lady, set us back about $50. It's not a cheap meal, but it was worth the experience. It's worth noting that The Blues BBQ & Grill has a loyalty program where, if you spend $100 (not all in one sitting, btw), you get a $5 discount on your next meal. If you're planning on coming here at least 2 or 3 times, you might as well sign up. The jury's still out as to whether or not we'll be back, since there are so many rib joints and so little time.

Been here a couple times now and I give it a Nikki meh. The first time I heard about this place was from coworkers raving about Blue's Honcho burger. I told them I would try Blue's our next lunch outing. Their menu reads like you need an AED near by to zap your heart just in case it can't keep up. I got the Honcho burger and it was delicious. My only suggestion is a bit more BBQ sauce on the burger. We took our food to go so I wasn't able to utilize their sauce at the tables. I also ordered their fried green tomatoes. Those were not so good. It was a pile of mushy what looked like corn meal batter and green tomatoes. I think with some tweaking this place could be great. I will be back.

Spark notes: -good food -small portions -Terrible service I sit on the fence about Blues BBQ. To start with the good, the food is good, but the portions are small and dont match the price. By the end of the meal i found myself Unfulfilled and wanting more but not in a good way. The Brisket burrito is different but the good kind of different, good flavor, just small ($9). The pulled pork sandwhich was nothing special ($9). The Bourbon ribs were fantastic in flavor and quality but you only get 3 short ribs for $15! They used to have 5 sauces, now down to 4, soon to be 3 so says the waiter. Sneaky Heat and Kansas City are the best, the first sweet while as implied, followed by a mild heat. Kansas City was sweet with a bit of vinegar but just be careful when pouring it because its chunky and blasts out of the bottle at times. Then theres a mustard sauce that i believe was called Grumpy Old Man that was interesting. And finally the 4th sauce wasnt much of a sauce but more like straight vinegar that will leave you coughing if you're not careful. Service is the worst part, we (3 of us) came in on a friday night, 6:45 to 3 parties ahead of us. After waiting for 20 minutes, we were finally seated but not before 2 seperate parties that came in AFTER us were seated first. The server took another 10 minutes to even come by for drinks, and scarcely checked in after. After we ordered, we continued to wait another hour and 10 minutes for our food. The infuriating thing about that was the simplicity of our meal, 3 ribs, pulled pork that just needs to get slapped on a bun, and a small burrito took an hour and 10 minutes and that 3 other tables seated AFTER we ordered, got their food before us. I wish i could of had a better experience but it is what it is

-5 stars rating if I could. This place says it's open at 11:00am I've been trying to call for the past 30 mins and all I get is the busy tone! Never ordering from here!

We stopped in for lunch, didn't even know this place existed. We haven't tended to visit BBQ restaurants as the only choice for a long time was Famous Dave's, and we own a smoker. But - What a great place!! It's a good atmosphere, the service was good, and the food pretty amazing. We started with the fried pickles, which are one of my favorite foods on the planet. We are not fans of spears, really loving chips best. These spears were unbelievably great! Great job, crisp coating. Wonderful. We split the Big Lick, which gave us a choice of three entrees. We chose the ribs, brisket and naked pork. Also wonderful. The ribs were well smoked, and not falling off the bone. The pulled pork had great flavor, numerous pieces of bark. The brisket was tender, very very tender. Which I never think brisket is tender. It also has a fair amount of fat, looking somewhat like pork belly :-) My husband said it's the best brisket ever. If we had to be nit-picky, and this is really nit-picky, the ribs could have been cooked a little longer, and the pork was a bit dry. And it's a tad pricy But truly minor details. For sides we had hush puppies and collard, and both were very well done! Can't wait to go back!

This is the real deal for BBQ. Brisket was moist and smoked to perfection. Pulled pork was also top notch. Potato salad was very good too. We always have gone to Texan BBQ, but this place is five notches above them. They offer a nice array of sauces to suit any taste. I had never tried a mustard based sauce before, but it was very good. I dipped the hush puppies in that sauce for a differently wonderful taste. The hush puppies are so good, moist on the inside and crisp on the outside, You could make a meal on the BBQ beans. We were there to do a recon for an event we want catered, and they will get our business. The only down side for me was that they only offer O'Douls in the way of non-alcoholic beers. That said, unfortunately most places do the same as NA's are usually an afterthought. Too bad, cause Becks NA is really good and should be available by the same distributor.

Cool BBQ joint! I have been three times now. The recently renovated space is a perfect fit. Bar area looks impressive. The menu has something for just about everyone. I have tried the baby back ribs, half chicken and various sides. All were very good and I will be back to try others. There are also a number of choices on their lunch menu for under $10. The entire area in general is undergoing a revitalization. Hopefully this place is a success and more restaurants like this one open in East Dundee.

I will never return. As my family and I were dining in blues BBQ we found the service to be extremely slow. Our waitress who went by "Jenny" seemed to not care about serving us and more about standing in the corner talking to co workers. At first they were in the corner where we couldn't hear what they were saying but then they moved to a corner close to my families table. As my family and I were all sitting in dire need of refills "Jenny" was too concerned about expressing to her co workers about "needing a blunt after work" I'm sorry but I will not be taking my family here again

I had the Grilled Salmon Salad. I asked for some pecans or walnut added to it, which they generously supplied. The salad was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and wonderfulYum, yum! Service was good tonight and everything was great.

Great BBQ pork. The nachos are a must have. All three of the sauces were very good. Love that they serve the drinks in mason jars. Our server Cam took great care of all 7 of our needs. We definitely will be back for more BBQ!

Saturday, January 31st, 2015 was my first visit to this place. The decor was clean and crisp, lots of bare wood. The food is good. I had the Texas chicken sandwich and hush puppies. The sandwich was very good. The hushpuppies were cooked in peanut oil, which I'm guessing is why the crispy outer shell tasted similar to that of an an egg roll. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, I give this place a thumbs up. I will definitely be back.

Dined here twice since they opened, very nice owners with a passion for food. For lunch I had a rib platter, so to speak. Unfortunately, they looked like drumsticks, not a slab of ribs and I was a little confused. The taste was, however, great! Sauces at the table were exceptional. Second time, great soup, everything. Now the negatives, my hush puppies were overdone, brownish-black on the outside. I forgot my chisel and hammer. The okra was the equivalent of what you might get at Dollar Generals' frozen section for a buck. So I'm divided, some fantastic tastes, a few things just not too good, but I'd give it a try again. My server took down everything, then forgot half our order and we had to wait another 15 minutes. Fun to watch while my wife ate. Awkward! He hung around the table for an eternity talking while my food went cold. Hope they get this straightened out.

It was our first time and we'll visit them again. The pulled chicken Memphis style was very good. The sweet potato fries were also excellent. My daughter had a pulled pork sandwich and loved it.

Absolutely amazing! Our server Emily was outstanding and very knowledgeable about the menu! The food was delicious. The hush puppies are to die for! Will be back soon! I recommend everyone going to blue bbq co!!!

Bought the GroupOn to try this place. I wanted to love it but was disappointed, even with lower expectations for carry out. Chicken was dry and had obviously sat around for a while. Cole slaw was bland but the beans were above average. Fried okra was good but typical. Nothing to make me want to try again. A shame b/c the place is beautiful and quaint and would be a great spot to be in the summer. The food was ready on time and service friendly.

I went here with my boyfriend a few days ago and was very happy with the service we received. Pros :relaxed environment, authentic food Cons : they don't have a big rib selection.

We were disappointed with the bbq. We really wanted to like this place as the whole family loves bbq, my 10 year old especially. We ordered a wide variety of things - ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken - and tried all the sauces, but the food just wasn't great. All the meats were dry and all the sauces were too sweet. The service was decent and I love the location but the food wouldn't bring me back.

One of the better "memphis" pulled pork sandwiches I have had. My daughter had the fish fry (not greasy at all) and she really enjoyed it. All in all good food good service we will be back. Glad we stopped.

Good food. The pulled pork sandwich is what I had and it was better than decent. Service was good for a relatively understaffed establishment. Would recommend.

3rd time eating here today all of which have been delicious. The service has been great and the food exceptional. I've had the Pit Ham, a couple of different pulled pork sandwiches and tried other things like the mac and cheese and hush puppies. Very happy with the experience.

We weren't impressed, they weren't that busy and Mac and cheese was sitting under warmer so long it was gross, ribs were dry and grisly. Appetizers were very good, (fried green tomatoes, onion rings) would recommend going there for that, but not going for dinner again, too expensive for crap food.

First time and great pulled pork. A large selection of sauces from around the country. The MEMPHIS Heat tangy ,sweet and a lil heat is great

We have eaten in the restaurant previously and thought the food was pretty tasty with the exception of having to pay for some bread with our meal. But tonight we ordered takeout. We received a flyer in the mail with coupons so we ordered the special which was a full slab of ribs for 15 dollars. When I went to pick up the food I was told by the manager that they would honor the order this time but it was only for dine in.I specifically asked when I put my order in was it good for takeout orders and I was told yes.Nowhere in the fine print on the menu did it mention it and truthfully the manager came off like a bully. Not a very good business model.

We don't live anywhere near East Dundee, but my daughter had a soccer tournament in the area. I had looked up BBQ places before we came out there. This one sounded really good to me. It was an off time (maybe 3:45 on a Sat.) so the place wasn't busy. The atmosphere is fun....big and wide open. My husband and daughter shared onion rings which got a double thumbs up. I ordered a combo platter with chicken, brisket and ribs. Great variety of sauces. I loved the sauce on the chicken...can't remember the name, but it's yellow! The meat on the ribs did not fall off the bone...that's how I like them...you should have to work for it a little! I also thought the food was a great value. If I didn't live an hour away, I'd be there all the time!

First time dinning was today. Dierdra was our server and did an outstanding job. The manager (I forgot his name sadly) did an outstanding job as well. The vibe was completely customer focused. The fried pickles are a must. The brisket was amazing. Also, the bourbon steak salad with the house dressing was a hit.

We really, really wanted to enjoy this place and had very high expectations for it. So much so that we went here on Valentine's day. The owner or manager was very kind and came to greet our table, thanking us for coming to the restaurant. We ordered the wings because the menu states they are smoked and then fried, which is my FAVORITE way to enjoy wings. We also sampled the soul rolls. Immediately, I thought the wings were overcooked. In fact, they tasted as though they'd been reheated. You know that weird taste chicken gets when you microwave it? These had a nice, crisp exterior, and the flesh was indeed pink as though it had been smoked; however, there's no way around the fact that the meat was extremely dry with an off-putting flavor. My girlfriend ordered the Big Lick, which allows you to pick from three different meats. She got 1/4 slab of ribs, Memphis pulled pork, and brisket. I ordered a full slab of the baby back ribs. We sampled hush puppies, mac-n-cheese, succotash, and coleslaw as our sides. Outwardly, the ribs look just fine. But as soon as we began taking them apart to eat them, things just began to avalanche. The ends of the ribs were nearly impossible to pull away from the bones. Some of the outer meat was so charred that it left this horrible, burnt taste in your mouth. The center of the meat was so hot that it could hardly be enjoyed, which is normally not a bad thing. But anyone who knows good BBQ knows that the internal temp should never be scalding .. especially if you're SLOW COOKING it, even finishing it on a grill top. The ribs were just downright horrible. Overcooked, dry, and again with that taste of reheated, old meat. The pulled pork was dry and overcooked, the brisket lacked any color. No pink whatsoever, it was dark, fatty, and again - very dry. The rest is simple: mac-n-cheese salty, coleslaw eh (nothing technically executed wrong, just not for me), succotash was interesting (you get about four tablespoons of it), and the hush-puppies were so delicious! They came with this interesting cinnamon butter that you spread on them, YUM! The best things about this place were the fried foods and the kind employees. But going here for $80 BBQ is a huge mistake.

I was hoping this was really good as I always have cravings for BBQ and this is near my office but was really disappointed. I had the pulled pork and it was SO dry. It was smothered in sauce to try and hide it but it just didn't help. I guess the search continues for good BBQ in the suburbs!

Stop the car!! I have been here to eat on three separate occasions and each time my expectations were exceeded. The pulled pork and chicken are melt in your mouth good. I have tried the filet mignon salad and it is tasty. The BBQ sauces are also very good. The meat can be served naked, so you choose what kind and how much sauce to use. I should also mention that the very first time we dined here the manager treated us to a free dessert. Can't beat it!! We have tried other BBQ in the area and this is the best!

Went for lunch. Started with calliflower that was great. Then split the big lick. Ribs were perfect, brisket very good..naked pork a little overcooked but overall loved everything. Tried all 5 sauces Sneaky heat was best. Wife loved mac'n'cheese I really liked beans. Bring cash for 3% discount.

I would first like to state that I have never been in the restaurant so this review is strictly about the food. A group of six at my office placed a carry out order and the food was not good. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and fries. The crab cake and fries had no flavor and were extremely greasy. I had heard wonderful word of mouth about Blues so I was excited to try it out but the food did not live up to the hype.

Blues BBQ is a place that has potential, but isn't quite there yet. The bar selection is vast with lots of solid craft beers and many types of bourbon. The service was great and the ambiance at the bar was relaxed and a bit trendy. My only qualms are with the food. The friend pickles had a nice crisp and flavor. Props to the fry cook... The main course (pulled pork and mac n cheese) on the other hand came out like 2 minutes after ordering and the plate was overly hot which is a sure sign of being nuked. :( Now I know that BBQ isn't the type of food which lends itself to being made-to-order since it's quite involved and takes many hours, but there are ways of preserving freshness throughout the day without drying out the meat. A better choice of bun would be a good idea as well since the one I had was overly chewy and bland. The noodles in the mac were overcooked (probably also due to microwaving). I will say that the different homemade sauces were tasty, though. I really want to support the new businesses opening up here in Dundee since they are fleeting and the town is in need of a revamp, so I will definitely give this place another try and perhaps add a star. It's certainly way better than the last two establishments that occupied the space. Best of luck Blues. UPDATE: Went back and tried the Blues Traveller Burger and was not disappointed! Perfect medium cook and the flavors were great. The collard greens were very good, too! Loving the bar area as well. Bartenders, barbacks, and hosts are all accommodating and friendly. Adding a star and will definitely be a repeat customer. Cheers.

Great place to take a family or large group. We ordered an appetizer. Was cool in the middle. Our food was not very hot as well. But my husbands was hot like it sat under lights for awhile. They brought my daughter the wrong meal.

Ok the experience i had was down right wrong. When it came to the taste. The staff was friendly and responded quickly to my presence and needs. But that does not make up the food they serviced. The brisket and pull pork was dry and taste like it had been re-warmed. The ribs where off for some reason tasted old. The seasoning on all meats was missing. But the onion rings was good. If your looking to get drunk and not Taste your food this is the place. But if you are a real bbq connoisseur. Don't stop pass your will not be happy.

Ok, been there twice now ... they need to turn down the lights! It feels like you are eating in a school's cafeteria...good prices...food is pretty good...wasn't that crowded the second time we went..and it was a Friday night!? ANd they are expanding? hush puppies are my fav...and you can't go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich... my husband got the pulled chicken sandwich he liked it .. I was totally disappointed with ribs...blaqk! ... this place is average...I honestly don't see how they are able to expand...there was no wait on a Friday night? .. Hopefully they aren't biting off more than they can chew!

Great food with nice size portions. 2nd time here and both times we had the mucho nachos and for the 2 of us it was a meal... But we had to order(and share) another meal. Very good both times and both times we took home leftovers. The only thing is if you order something bbq'd make sure you know what sauce it comes with because they have several kinds.

We had great food and great service. I think people need to give it time, give it a second chance, new places need to get into grove. I can't say enough about the ribs, fried green tomatoes and cocktails. I'll be back.

Much ado about nothing. It's the newest hot spot, but I doubt it will last as it is. That is unless people really like mediocre food. Why can't this area get some GREAT food options?!

Came here last night with some friends. Overall, really good!!! For appetizers we had fried green tomatoes and the Asian cauliflower. FGTomatoes were really good - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, not overly salted. But the Asian cauliflower - sooooooooo awesome!!!! It tasted like General Tso's Chicken but cauliflower. It was so good we ordered a second!! Would never guess it's cauliflower. My boyfriend and I split the Big Lick with brisket, half rack ribs and naked pork for the meats. Brisket was juicy and had a nice flavor, ribs were so meaty i was really surprised! And the naked pork was awesome, plus it was nice to have all four sauces on the table so we could try each on the pork. We liked the Kentucky best but we both prefer a more tomatoey sauce. For sides we had savory sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Super crispy fries were good, and coleslaw was crisp and not over dressed. The donut holes for dessert, fresh and delicious! Just makes sure to shake the bag! Craft beer menu was good, and had something for everyone. My only real complaint was that where our table was there wasn't an overhead light so it was really, really dark, but the rest of the dining room was well lit. Other than that, I'll be excited to go back!

Nope, not even close. The bisket was dry, cold, and may have been smoked for all of ten minutes. Came with a little bowl of beans that were pretty good but for the price I'm not impressed. I think before anyone can open a BBQ joint they should have to go try a real BBQ place. I've had better BBQ from a food truck in Austin, just sayin. And what's with the four sauces? Make one sauce that's YOURS and stand by it.

Being a BBQ snob, I found this place to be quite good. Brisket was very tender with nice smokey rings and needed no sauce. Ribs were fall off the bone good. Baked Beans were a semi - spicy to die for combo and the hush puppies were done perfectly with an absolutely amazing cinnamon peach butter. It was all excellent with good portions. Also tried their fried pickles, which were great too. Nice crispy breading and the pickle spears were nice and crisp. Will definitely be going back and this place is now on my list of good BBQ places in the burbs. It beats all the other competitors in the NW Burbs.

Went there on new years evening. This was our first visit and not sure what to expect. We both ordered a slab of ribs. These were wonderful. These were the meatiest ribs we ever tasted. The slab was so large it hung over the plate. Service was outstanding. Sides were good not great. Looking at what was happening at other tables noticed the sandwiches were of good size also. There were enough leftovers on the ribs for a full meal the next day. Will definitely go back.

Great place added to a great and growing neighborhood. This area has needed another great place other than Emmetts, village squire, or Diamond Jim's. I had the Memphis pulled pork. It's as good, if not better than sweet baby rays, and i been there many times. GF had one of the burgers and i ate some that too. Very good, not over cooked or dry. Delicious! Good beer selection. We're coming back:-)

Fantastic food. Got the Big lick to try a few things. The ribs were good. Most people only know about fall off the bone oven cooked ribs. This is not how ribs are supposed to be people. The meat should be tender but should take a little effort to get off the bone. A good rub is key. The brisket was good but a little dry for my liking, I like my brisket in the middle but that is just my preference. The Carolina style pulled pork was dead on. I've eaten bbq several places in this country and they do a good job. I will say the service was a little slow and needs work but the food was fantastic except for the hush puppies. Carolina mustard was good as well as the sneaky. Will definitely be going back. Oh Ya, if you want fall of the bone Yankee Greek family style restaurant ribs this is not your place. If you want real bbq check it out.

We had heard a lot about this restaurant and thought we would give it a try and we called for a carryout order. I am not a big BBQ person but my husband is so I ordered the bacon cheeseburger which was good but did not come with anything on it, no lettuce or tomato as described on the menu. I also got the sweet scallion hush puppies, an order of 3 which were black, burnt and dry. My husband got the slab of ribs which were also very dry to the point that they feel apart like ash. He got the baked beans which were good and and the coleslaw which was OK. For $37.00 which our bill was I much rather had gone to Chili's. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Heard about this place from a friend and thought we would give it a try. First they have a great selection of draft beers including a bourbon stout as well as a good selection of bourbon. Lots of choices of finger food appetizer ( wings, macandcheese, nachos etc) .... Good selection of BBQ ribs and pulled pork with six different BBQ sauces. All in all I would go back!!!

Our waitress was very good but needed to get a bit more confidence describing the drink specials and the types of sauces but 4 stars for her personality. The stand out was the food. We started with the mac and cheese bites and hushpuppies. The mac bites were good but the hushpuppies were as good as my Southern Grandma's. Depending on how large the side order portion is I would order them on their own. I ordered the half chicken. It was smoked and overall very good. The sauces they offer were a well rounded balanced selection. Loved the Carolina and the hot one. The sides I chose were greens and fries. The greens - oh they were yummy. Once again as good as Grandma's. The fries were fresh cut with the skins. I enjoyed them. The mac and cheese my hubby ordered was really good, too. The star of the dinner was the ribs. Perfect smoke ring, meaty and not fall off the bone (good ribs means they pull off the bone not fall off), great tender chew. Perfectly sauced. My husband was so happy with the ribs he asked to speak to the manager to tell him. What a nice man to talk with. He knows BBQ. He even let us sample the brisket. I can't wait to try a brisket dinner. We have tried all the BBQ joints in the area and Blues surpasses them. I think they are worthy of a visit.

There 5/1/15 - Let me start by addressing staff. Our waitress and the manager were excellent, they showed genuine concern we were satisfied with experience. However it is really all about the food which I have to say was not good. The emphasis was on everything made on site which generally a good thing. Sauces and sides made from scratch, we ordered the hush puppies which we sent back . Golf ball sized dark hard pieces of dough with absolutely no taste. The waitress and manager were both very apologetic and put in a new order which when brought out were the same as first order. We ended not eating them. For the dinners I had the ribs and chicken and my wife the apple butter ribs. Mine already had a mustard style sauce on chicken and the ribs a spicy red sauce on ribs not good. The ribs although fall off bone lacked the smokiness taste of ribs. The apple butter ribs tasted sweeter but really were not good. As I write this review both my wife and I are nauseated with stomach problems. I am not implying our dinners caused our conditions but overall experience was not good. Maybe should have gotten a burger or wrap. With living in Kansas City many years. I guess was expecting better. We wanted to like this place, but fell way short. Famous Dave's still only choice for us around this area.

Huge menu, 4 different BarBQue Sauces, Brewed Ice Tea & huge beer selection, Great French Fries, Great service. We were there early for a Saturday dinner, the restaurant had lots of space and easy parking. The pulled pork could have been a warmer and the buns sould have been toasted. They need a sauce of the month. Will come back.

Cheers.

I was hoping this was really good as I always have cravings for BBQ and this is near my office but was really disappointed. I had the pulled pork and it was SO dry. It was smothered in sauce to try and hide it but it just didn't help. I guess the search continues for good BBQ in the suburbs!

Enjoyable lunch. Great service. Had the Honcho Burger and Fries. Both were tasty. The draft beer selection, while not extensive, offered some compelling choices. I'll definitely go back.

One of the better "memphis" pulled pork sandwiches I have had. My daughter had the fish fry (not greasy at all) and she really enjoyed it. All in all good food good service we will be back. Glad we stopped.

  • Mikey F.
